Skimming/Reskimming

The application of a top coat of finishing plaster to create a smooth surface, either over existing plaster, artex or plasterboard.

Rendering

Applying a hardwearing coating to exterior house or garden walls, whether traditional sand and cement ready to be painted or a pre-coloured render system like silicone render.

Sand and cement: From £45 per m2
Silicone/coloured render: From £75 per m2

Coving

The application of a decorative moulding, usually made of materials like plaster, polystyrene, or duropolymer, used to create a decorative border between interior walls and ceilings.

Floating

The application of a thick undercoat plaster such as hardwall or bonding, directly onto brick or block walls. Most often followed with an application of top coat plaster for a smooth finish.

Plasterboarding

The application of plasterboard to timber or metalwork (tacking) or stuck directly to brick or block walls with adhesive (dot and dab).
